After 31 years of business, Island Green Golf Course, Par 72 – 6,382 yards, is scheduled to close Friday August 19th.  The course is located off Hwy 707 near Heron Point Golf Course.  It is managed by Signature Golf Group whose main offices are located at Indigo Creek Golf Club, which isn’t impressing many according to review.  Island Green is 1 of 7 of the courses managed by Signature and not the only course in shambles.

They also manage courses like Azalea Sands, River Oaks, Heron Point and Conway Country Club. The condition of those courses speak for themselves.  However, the green fees will accomadate any and all players.

Homeowners at Island Green are extremely upset over the situation.  One commented that his property already took a hit with the economy but with the course closing, it has now hit rock bottom.  What good is a house on a golf course that is closed?  Especially, when the entire sales pitch is it being “conveniently located on a course near Myrtle Beach”.

Questioning will take place Friday at the pro shop from 9am to 3pm and be directed at management.
