June 25th and 26th – Hundreds of people gathered together to raise money for our local Veterans. Tournament Director, Chris Aranda, said “We raised over $8,000 over the weekend and had a great opportunity to introduce a number of businesses in the area, gather community veterans and friends to make a great event.”

 

Northstar Financial and Carolinas Golf Times sponsored a $1,000,000 hole in one giveaway where five finalists gathered at the end of regulation play to have 1 shot at winning one million dollars. Unfortunately, no one was able to go home with the 2’ x 4’ power-ball like check that was waiting on the tee.

 

Northstar Financial founder, Patrick Monroe, and Golf Times Publisher, Chance Leith, also sponsored The Harley Davidson hole in one giveaway where all 144 players on Saturday got a chance to knock it in the hole on number 6 from 165 yds to win a 2011 Harley Davidson that also awaited the winner on the tee box. The two sponsors also offered auxiliary prizes on the other Par 3’s such as a $500 Visa, Nike Victory Irons and a 32″ plasma TV.

 

The clear skies and the relationships made for a wonderful, successful golf outing raising our Veterans funds for their benefits. Much appreciation is extended to International Golf Club, Chris Aranda, Denise Triece with Harley Davidson, NorthStar Financial, Golf Times and all the other sponsors that made for a great event. Everyone has said that they look forward to next year!
